Introduction
A complete overview of how Vidor works — the key concepts, mechanics, and rules every creator needs to understand.
How Vidor Works
Vidor is a platform that lets creators monetize their time through paid 1:1 video calls with fans. The platform manages scheduling, payments, the call itself, and payouts — so you can focus on showing up and delivering a great experience.
Here's the flow from start to finish:
- You set up packages (time-based offerings) and configure your availability.
- You share your unique booking link with your audience.
- A fan visits your link, picks a package and time slot, and pays upfront.
- Both you and the fan receive confirmation. The booking appears on your dashboard.
- At the scheduled time, you join the call from your dashboard. The fan is brought in from the waiting room.
- After the session, the payment clears escrow and becomes part of your earnings.
- On the next payout cycle, your available earnings are transferred to your payout account.
Packages
A package is a time-based offering you create for fans to book. Each package has a duration (such as 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes), a price you set, and an optional description that tells fans what they can expect.
You can create multiple packages at different price points and durations. Fans choose the package that fits what they want — a quick shoutout, a longer personal conversation, a coaching session, or whatever you decide to offer.
Packages are visible on your booking page. You can edit or remove them at any time, though changes won't affect already-booked sessions.
Availability
Availability is when you're open to receive bookings. You configure this as a weekly schedule — setting the days and hours you're available each week. Fans can only book time slots that fall within your available windows.
You can also set a daily break (a recurring period each day when you're unavailable, such as a lunch hour) and buffer time between sessions (a gap after each call before the next one can start).
Your availability determines what time slots appear on your booking page. Keeping it accurate ensures you only get bookings when you're actually free.
Your Booking Link
Your booking link is your unique URL on Vidor. It leads to your public profile page, where fans can see your packages, read your bio, and book a session.
Share this link anywhere you reach your audience — your social media bios, Linktree, website, newsletter, or in direct messages. Every booking comes through this link.
Bookings
A booking is a confirmed, paid session between you and a fan. When a fan books a session, they select a package and an available time slot, then complete payment. Once payment is confirmed, the booking is locked in.
You can view all upcoming and past bookings from your dashboard. Each booking shows the fan's name, the package they selected, the scheduled time, and the amount paid.
Tokens
Tokens are Vidor's in-platform virtual currency, used by fans during live sessions. Fans purchase tokens with real money, then spend those tokens to send tips or purchase gifts while on a call with you.
Tokens exist because they make in-call transactions fast and frictionless — no payment forms to fill out mid-conversation. When a fan sends you tokens, those tokens convert to real money that becomes part of your earnings.
Tips
Tips are token-based payments fans can send to you during a live session. A fan can tip any amount at any point in the call — they simply choose a token amount and send it. The tokens are immediately credited to your earnings (subject to the standard platform fee and holding period).
Tips are voluntary and fan-initiated. You cannot request a specific tip amount, but you can acknowledge and encourage them as part of your natural in-call interaction.
Gifts
Gifts are preset items you create in your gift menu. Each gift has a name, a token price you set, and optionally an image or emoji. During a live call, fans can browse your gift menu and purchase gifts for you using their tokens.
Think of gifts as a way to create fun, interactive, themed moments during calls. You define what's available — fans choose what to send.
Gift earnings follow the same fee and escrow rules as other earnings.
Escrow
Escrow is a holding state for funds. When a fan pays for a session, the money doesn't go directly to you — it's held in escrow by Vidor until after the session is complete.
This protects both parties. Fans have assurance that if a session doesn't happen as expected, refund policies apply. You have assurance that payment is secured before the call takes place.
After a session ends, funds move out of escrow and into your earnings balance, subject to the holding period. Once the holding period passes, those earnings are available for your next payout.
Payouts
Payouts are transfers of your earned money from Vidor to your bank account or other payout method. Vidor processes payouts twice per month. To receive a payout, your available earnings must meet the minimum threshold of $50.
You must connect a payout account before earnings can be transferred. Vidor also requires tax documentation (W-9 for US creators, W-8BEN for international creators) before processing payouts.
See the Earnings & Payouts page for full details on fees, thresholds, schedules, and setup.
Creator Rules
Creator rules are guidelines you publish on your profile that tell fans what you will and won't do on calls. They set expectations before a fan books — helping you attract the right audience and reducing uncomfortable situations during sessions.
Rules can cover anything relevant to your calls: topics you're happy to discuss, things you won't do, language requirements, or any other boundary you want to set. Fans see your rules when they visit your booking page.
If a fan violates your rules during a session, you can end the call and report the fan. See Trust & Safety for more.
