Glossary
Definitions for every term used on Vidor, listed alphabetically.
A
- Availability
- The days and hours during which you're open to receive bookings. Configured as a weekly schedule in your dashboard. Fans can only book sessions during your available windows. You can override specific dates as needed.
B
- Booking
- A confirmed, paid session scheduled between a creator and a fan. A booking is created when a fan selects a package and time slot and completes payment. Both parties receive confirmation. The booking appears in the creator's dashboard and is subject to the cancellation and refund policy.
- Booking Link
- Your unique URL on Vidor that leads to your public profile page. Fans visit this link to view your packages and schedule a session. Share it across your social media, website, and other channels to drive bookings.
- Buffer Time
- A gap added after each session before the next one can begin. For example, a 15-minute buffer means a fan cannot book a session starting within 15 minutes of the end of your previous session. Configured in your availability settings.
C
- Creator
- A user who creates a profile on Vidor to offer paid 1:1 video sessions to fans. Creators set their packages, configure availability, share their booking link, conduct sessions, and receive earnings.
- Creator Rules
- Guidelines you publish on your public profile that tell fans what you will and won't do during sessions. Visible to fans before they book. Rules help set expectations and protect you during calls.
D
- Daily Break
- A recurring blocked period each day during your available hours. For example, blocking 12pm–1pm every day you're available. Fans cannot book sessions that overlap with your daily break. Configured in your availability settings.
- Dashboard
- Your main control panel on Vidor. The dashboard shows your upcoming bookings, earnings summary, recent transactions, quick links to settings, and tools for managing your profile, packages, and availability.
E
- Escrow
- A holding state for funds. When a fan pays for a session, the money is held in escrow by Vidor — not immediately released to the creator. After the session is complete and the holding period passes, funds are released to the creator's earnings balance. Escrow protects both fans (by enabling refunds when applicable) and creators (by ensuring payment is secured before the session).
F
- Fan
- A user who visits a creator's booking page, books sessions, and participates in calls. Fans pay for packages upfront and can send tips and gifts during live sessions using tokens.
G
- Gift
- A preset item in a creator's gift menu that fans can purchase during a live call using tokens. Creators define their own gift items — each with a name, a token price, and optionally an image or emoji. Gift earnings are credited to the creator (minus the platform fee) and subject to the standard holding period.
I
- In-Call Messaging
- A text chat panel available during live video sessions. Both the creator and fan can send text messages during the call. Useful for sharing links, providing context, or communicating if audio is disrupted.
P
- Package
- A time-based session offering created by a creator. Each package has a title, duration (in minutes), price, and description. Fans choose a package when booking. Creators can have multiple packages active at once.
- Payout
- A transfer of your available earnings from Vidor to your connected payout account. Payouts are processed twice per month. A minimum balance of $50 is required to receive a payout.
- Payout Account
- The bank account or payment method you've connected to Vidor to receive your earnings. You must set up a payout account before you can receive payouts. Requires completion of required tax documentation.
- Profile
- Your public-facing page on Vidor. Includes your profile picture, cover photo, display name, bio, media, creator rules, and available packages. Fans see your profile when they visit your booking link.
S
- Session
- A live 1:1 video call between a creator and a fan, conducted through the Vidor platform. The session duration is determined by the package the fan booked. Sessions end automatically when the timer runs out, or can be ended early by the creator.
T
- Tags
- Labels you can add to your profile to describe your content or focus areas. Tags help fans understand what you offer and may improve discoverability on the platform.
- Tip
- A token-based payment a fan can send to a creator voluntarily during a live session. Fans choose the tip amount themselves. Tips are credited to the creator's earnings (minus the platform fee) and subject to the standard holding period.
- Token
- Vidor's in-platform virtual currency. Fans purchase tokens with real money and use them to send tips and buy gifts during live sessions. Tokens make in-call transactions fast and frictionless. Creators receive the monetary value of tokens spent on them, minus the platform fee.
W
- Waiting Room
- A holding state for fans who have arrived for a scheduled session. When a fan joins at session time, they're placed in the waiting room until the creator is ready and admits them to the call. The creator controls when the session actually begins.
- Weekly Schedule
- The recurring availability pattern you configure in your dashboard. Sets which days of the week you're available and the hours on those days during which fans can book. Repeats each week until you change it.
